Be Where Your Feet Are
If a football player has a bad play, coaches will typically tell him to shake it off. Knowing that the next play is coming up and that guy needs to be fully present for it. Focus on winning the play. And then the next. One play at a time. Win the game.
Similarly, if we think of our days made up of individual plays, we will want to be fully in the moment to make the most of it. Our lives are made up of those moments. If we miss them, we lose in a big way.
A few notes from our time together!
Be Where Your Feet Are Is NOT …
... not replaying yesterday over & over - don't let yesterday ruin today
... not worrying about tomorrow - don't let tomorrow's concerns ruin today
... not hurrying to get to the next moment

Be Where Your Feet Are IS ...
-
A CHOICE!!
-
to keep your head & heart where your feet are ... it's basic but not easy
-
fully present; live present
-
staying in your lane; living your own life
-
choosing the real people in your life … the ones who are right in front of you
-
acknowledging that life is passing us by. Like the hour glass, none of us knows how much sand is at the top and the sand is always flowing.
-
all in
-
thinking in decades but acting in days

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Before you say "Yes" ...
So many questions.
So many requests of our time.
So many people want us to do so many things.

And, some of them are perfect for us. Others are things that we should pass on.

Before you say an automatic yes, take a pause and ask yourself these helpful questions!!

-
Can I do it?
-
Am I the only one who can do it?
-
Do I know all the details that I need to make the right decision?
-
What other questions do I need to ask before I give an answer?
-
Should this be a priority for me right now?
-
What will I not be able to do if I do this?
-
How will this affect my family?
-
Will I want to do it when the time comes? **Will my future self thank me?
-
Is it worth what it will take out of me?
-
Which decision will I regret? The yes. Or the no. ***No regrets!
-
Which decision makes me feel relieved? The yes. Or the no.
